Youth Hunting Events

ANY EVENT HELD ON ANY DIVISION OF FISH AND WILDLIFE PROPERTY THAT INVOLVES HANDLING AND SHOOTING FIREARMS WILL BE STRICTLY ORGANIZED AND CONDUCTED BY RESPONSIBLE, EXPERIENCED ADULTS. THEY WILL ACT AS MENTORS TO TEACH FIREARM SAFETY AND SAFE HUNTING PRACTICES, AND WILL BE PAIRED WITH YOUNG PARTICPANTS TO CONSTANTLY MONITOR THEIR ACTIONS WHILE THEY ARE HOLDING, HANDLING, AND SHOOTING FIREARMS.

Crosley Youth Squirrel Hunt with Dogs

Who: Available to youth 17 and younger. 12 and younger require adult present.

Crosley Fish and Wildlife Area in cooperation with the Hoosier Tree Dog Alliance will be putting on a youth squirrel hunt with the help of squirrel dogs. It will take place on January 3, 2009, at Crosley Fish and Wildlife Area. The youth will take part in a guided squirrel hunt with the help of various squirrel dogs and their handlers. Come along and take a walk through the woods and watch as the dogs tree some bushytails here on Crosley. Kids are encouraged to bring their favorite squirrel rifle or shotgun, but guns and ammo will be provided to those who want to try it for the first time. A youth license or youth apprentice license is required and don't forget to bring some hunter orange.
