If you have a question about the state's environment, you can contact the Indiana Department of Environmental Management by phone, by regular mail or by e-mail. If you see something that should not be in the water or on the land, you can call the Environmental Emergency line 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Use the links below to work with IDEM to preserve Indiana's environment.

As a general rule, e-mail addresses are composed of the first letter of the name, followed by the first seven letters of the last name, followed by @idem.in.gov.

  • For example:
    • Name: Jane Doe
    • E-mail: jdoe@idem.in.gov
  • If the last name has two surnames, only the first surname will be used. Example:
    • Name: Jane Doe-Smith
    • E-mail: jdoe@idem.in.gov
